MONEE – William “Billy” Morgan, Democratic candidate for Illinois State Representative for the 79th District, today released the following statement on the coming vote in Manteno relating to the Gotion plant:
“Jobs, investment, sustainability, and safety: that’s why I’m for Gotion in Manteno. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity, and I urge Manteno’s planning and zoning committee to vote for our future by voting yes on Gotion.
“Gotion will bring 2,600 new permanent jobs (not to mention construction jobs), will adhere to the strongest safety and environmental protections, and will usher in a new era of manufacturing for the 79th District through $2 billion worth of investment and state-of-the-art technology that will keep jobs in our area for the long haul.
“As your State Representative, I’ll fight every day to keep and expand good job opportunities in our community, and I will not equivocate about economic development in Kankakee County.”
